Volunteer Grants 2021 Open for Nominations

Published on Tue 23 March 2021 12:30pm

I am very glad to represent a community that has a long-standing culture of volunteering and so I take this opportunity to advise groups that the Australian Government’s long-running Volunteer Grants program is again open for applications.

Grants of between $1,000 and $5,000 are available to help community organisations operating in Fremantle, Cockburn, or East Fremantle to buy equipment such as laptops, pay fuel costs, or assist with volunteer training costs. For more information read the Volunteer Grant guidelines.

The application process has two phases. The first step is to lodge an expression of interest with my office on the form below.

In order to meet the prescribed deadline set by the Department of Social Services, the Expression of Interest (EOI) period will close at 5pm AWST on Thursday, 15 April 2021. This will allow my Community Consultation Panel sufficient time to assess applications and nominate applicants.

The Department of Social Services will invite organisations nominated by the committee to make formal application in May.

Please be aware that nomination does not guarantee granting of funds – the Department of Social Services will assess applications and administer the funding.

Should you have any questions about this grant please email Kerry at kerry.banting@aph.gov.au.
