I am proud to represent a community that has a long-standing culture of volunteering and so I take this opportunity to advise groups that the Australian Government’s long-running Volunteer Grants program is again open for applications.
Grants of between $1,000 and $5,000 are available to help community organisations operating in Fremantle, Cockburn, or East Fremantle to buy equipment such as laptops, pay fuel costs, or assist with volunteer training costs. For more information read the Volunteer Grant guidelines.
The application process has two phases. The first step is to lodge an expression of interest with my office.
Unfortunately, the Federal Government has without notice chosen to run this process during the summer period. Therefore in order to meet the prescribed deadline the Expression of Interest period will close at 5pm AWST on Friday 14 February. This will allow my Community Consultation Panel sufficient time to assess applications and nominate applicants.
I invite your organisation to submit a proposal here: Fremantle Volunteer Grants 2020 EOI
Successful organisations will then have until Monday 16 March 2020 to submit a formal application.
Please be aware that nomination does not guarantee granting of funds – the Department of Social Services will assess applications and administer the funding.
Should you have any questions about this grant please email Joseph at email@example.com but note that while my office will be closed between Monday 23 December and Friday 3 January.
